Put an exact medicine name beside the word peptide.
Imagine an offer that says only “peptide therapy.” Before comparing the offer, find out what those words leave unsaid.
Medicine approval information checked September 26, 2026.
Peptide describes a chain
Amino acids are small chemicals that join together to form proteins. A short chain of these chemicals is called a peptide.
Calling something a peptide leaves its safety and legal status unanswered.
Put the complete medicine name in your notes. The phrase “peptide therapy” still leaves the product unnamed.
Read the product category before comparing an offer
Approval belongs to a specific product
FDA means Food and Drug Administration. A product’s approval applies to that medicine and its intended use.
Approved products include semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy).
Tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) is another ingredient used in FDA-approved products.
That does not answer which medicine fits your health or whether treatment is needed. Put those questions to the person assessing you.
A pharmacy-made preparation is a different category
With compounding, a licensed pharmacist or doctor mixes or prepares the patient’s medicine rather than supplying a ready-made drug.
Larger medicine-making sites that register with FDA can also prepare compounded drugs.
No FDA approval comes with a compounded medicine, even when its maker is a licensed pharmacy.
Ask what need the preparation is meant to meet and why an approved product would not meet it.
Read what compounding changesAn online name can leave the product category unclear
US approval records checked September 26, 2026 contained no approved BPC-157 product and no approved retatrutide product.
FDA says neither retatrutide nor cagrilintide may legally be used to compound medicine under federal law.
Ask the clinician to identify the exact product and the evidence for the use being discussed. A broad promise about “peptides” cannot do that work.
